Special Screening of Making of Modern Atlanta

In celebration of Black History Month, University of Houston Law Center will host a screening of “Andrew Young’s Making of Modern Atlanta.”

After the viewing, UH Law Center’s Dean Leonard M. Baynes will moderate a panel discussion about how Atlanta’s growth parallels with Houston. University of Houston College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences professors Linda Reed and Tyrone Tillery and Rev. William Lawson of the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church will join the discussion as panelists. A reception will be held after the discussion from 8:35pm to 9:30pm.

Andrew Young’s Making of Modern Atlanta” shares the story of Atlanta’s rise from a small city into a metropolis with wide-ranging international reach. The documentary project was started by Andrea Idelle Young, a scholar-in-residence at Morehouse College and an instructor on policy leadership at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
